Sunday, August 18, 12:00 - 3:00 pm: WORK BEE!
This coming Sunday we are having a Work Bee in preparation for our Garden Launch Party on August 24th (10:00am to 12 noon). We have invited many special guest so let's get our Garden looking its best and show everyone on how proud we are of our community garden.
There are many tasks to take care of and lots to do. Also in light of the fact that we now have had 5 reports of members having their produce stolen, it's a great time to get to know your fellow plot members. So that we can challenge anyone who looks like they are non a member if we see them taking veggies from a plot.
Some examples of work that needs to be done in individual plots: fixing wonky trellaces trellises and other supports; removing pots around plots; getting rid of moldy and blighty foliage etc.
Some examples of volunteer work on the communal garden area includes: organizing the shed; supporting vertical pumpkins with panty hose; pruning children's garden tomatoes; second planting in children’s gardens; shearing dog strangle vine; shearing weeds and tall grass against plots and flower boxes; getting rid of moldy leaves in communal plots etc.
Things to bring: shears; scissors; panty hose
