New to the biodome garden this year is an aquaponics system. This structure safely recycles wastewater from fish to nourish plants within a contained system. The water is then filtered back to the fish and the cycle continues. The system is still in the building stages but will be complete early summer.
Starting June 21st and running until the end of August, we will be hosting an open house at the biodome garden every Sunday morning from 10:30 – 12:30 and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30. Inside visitors will be able to view the many herbs and vegetables garden members have been growing and learn how the biodome structure acts as a unique ecosystem that enables plants to be grown year-round.
